Hidden in Plain Sight is a poster series examining the lives of five female serial killers—Denise Diana Buchanan, Tammy Corbett Evans, Dorothy Williams, Aileen Wuornos, and Kristen Gilbert—through a restrained and symbolic visual approach. The designs explore underlying themes of childhood neglect, abuse, trauma, and the pursuit of control, using layered imagery, obscured forms, and fragmented compositions to suggest what is concealed beneath ordinary appearances.
Each poster balances clarity and distortion, pairing typography with disrupted visual elements that reflect psychological tension and instability. Muted, desaturated tones are punctuated by sharp contrasts, reinforcing a sense of unease while avoiding overt sensationalism.
